People dealing with laboratory chemicals should be informed about potential risks. Informative Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are available for our test kits free of charge and in over 30 languages. They provide important information and useful advice concerning ingredients, technical handling of chemicals, workplace safety measures and ecological data - topics on which the competition offers none or only very rare information. In addition, Merck supplies workplace safety cards and safety posters for lab technicians describing workplace measures for dealing with hazardous substances in test kits and reagents.

Not only do we try to avoid the use of chemicals that could harm the environment, we are also the only supplier to offer our customers comprehensive ecological data for our products as well as support for waste disposal. For example, Merck provides the convenient Retrologistik® disposal service for the safe and simple disposal of chemical waste and package materials. In addition, we provide comprehensive and easy-to-use waste disposal guidelines for our customers. Step-by-step instructions guide the user through a straightforward process to properly dispose of test kit chemicals. With the help from Merck, laboratories can play an active role in protecting the environment.
